A systems problem at Edinburgh's ATC meant no planes could arrive or depart from the airport.

Air travel have resumed at Scotland's primary international airport after a major technical issue at the control tower grounded all flights.

Every arrival and departure were halted due to an technical fault that arose around 08:30.

A number of travelers were left waiting in jets at the stand as the outage continued.

Flights Resume with Residual Impact

A statement indicated at 10:40 that services were back online, and thanked passengers for their "understanding and cooperation".

However, considerable delays are anticipated to persist for some time. Flights to key destinations like Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, and Bristol have been cancelled, with numerous other services facing hold-ups.

A spokesperson had earlier anticipated that a significant number of movements could be disrupted.

"Travelers are urged to contact their airlines for the most up-to-date details on their specific flights," officials reiterated.
